Last year, I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of AWS Community Day Adria in Podgorica, Montenegro. It was an awesome event, well organized, with a great lineup of speakers and topics. Speaking of which, what where the odds to board on the same flight from LA to Istanbul with AWS Community Leader Montenegro?

This year, the event is moving to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I am excited to announce that I will be speaking there! It’s hard to describe how grateful and honored I am for this opportunity.
The keynote speaker will be none other than Jeff Barr, the Vice President & Chief Evangelist at Amazon Web Services.
Jeff Barr @re:invent 2023, Las Vegas
It is difficult to single out any one individual speaker or topic, because the list of speakers is packed with amazing talent and expertise. This year organizers really raised the bar.

My Talk
I will present “Near Real-Time Event Ingestion at Scale: 300M+ Messages with MSK, Lambda, and RDS Proxy.” In this session, I will skip the basics of AWS services and instead dive directly into advanced, production-ready patterns and best practices battle-tested in real-world scenarios. Although the topic is quite complex, the intended audience is already familiar with the core concepts. My goal is to demonstrate how these individual technologies and patterns fit together effectively.
Have you been dealing with noisy neighbors? You better not be one of them. I will share how to avoid the pitfalls of noisy neighbors in a multi-tenant architecture, and how to adapt to unexpected spikes in traffic, database load, or memory consumption.
There will be a Q&A session after the 30-minute presentation. In case we don’t have time to answer all questions, everyone is welcome to join me between sessions or after the event to discuss details and address any further questions. I also look forward to hearing your experiences and insights on the topic.
About me
I have been successfully annoying people since the last century.
I wrote my first line of code when “Java” was a rumor, “cloud” meant rain, “AI” meant Clippy, and “DevOps” was just yelling at the sysadmin from across the office. That does not make me an expert, but it does make me a survivor.
Still here. Still typing. Still annoying people.
