Back to school - Renewing AWS Certificates

Back in 2021, I wrote a post about AWS Certifications. Since then, I haven not taken many exams. Because AWS certifications are valid for a limited time (usually three years, though some Beta exams may be valid longer), it was time to renew them. Since I wrote the original article, not much has changed. What I said back then still applies today, so I am not going to repeat it.

I was lazy for a while. I needed motivation and a jump start. Now that I am on a roll, I have a feeling it will be hard to stop me. My mission is to renew every certification I previously held, and maybe pick up something new along the way.

Test Center Issues

My biggest problem right now is that I cannot find a quiet place to take exams, so I have to rely on test centers. In my city, there are two, but each one hosts exams only one day per week, and apparently every other week, so I scheduled one exam on Wednesday at one provider, and another on Thursday at the second test center.

How did it go? I passed both.

They can be verified at https://aws.amazon.com/verification. The verification codes are shown in the screenshots below.

What’s next?

I have already scheduled two more exams. I will keep you posted on how they go. The plan is to stay consistent, build momentum, and knock out renewals one by one. In early 2026, I will tackle the Professional and Specialty level certifications. I will try to tackle expired + gain some new certs.

Happy learning!
